Sylvia Tommasi
I am Sylvia Tommasi a current Fashion student at The Art Institute of Tampa. My inspiration for school is my family, their motivation and willingness to pursue any dream is what has pushed me through my education. Fashion is what has brought me very close to my mother she has taught me her trade and skill to be passed on. So going into the Fashion program at The Art Institute was just so fitting for me. Being Italian my heritage is very family oriented, so while designing apparel in my spare time my family often gives me inspiration and harsh critiques that push me to do more.
One of my role models in the business world would be Steve Jobs. His ideal of pushing his employees to the limit and often past to get the best possible result is quite the technic. In my experiences of management at restaurants his ideal has made my co-workers strive for higher customer service.
Aside from school my others hobbies are not typical for a fashion student. My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family fishing in out secret “honey holes” some found by our late Grandfather. Other hobbies include everything and anything my family comes up with just spending time with them is a hobby in its own.
Coming up on my college graduation I would like to go into either management or event planning. My dream is to merge the two into a dream job. I one day will have my own event planning business and hopefully will have opportunities to travel the world doing what I love. My role models are my brothers they are the hardest working individuals I know. These motivations, goals, dreams, and role models are what has gotten me through life up to this point.
